Ambassador Model PLC at Work

What is a DuFour and Eaker Ambassador Model PLC at Work® School or District?

The elite DuFour and Eaker Ambassador Model PLC at Work® tier is reserved for current Model PLC at
Work® schools or districts who demonstrate their commitment to the PLC at Work process by
continuously improving even after achieving model PLC status.

In addition, those who desire to receive the Ambassador designation demonstrate a commitment to supporting others
on their PLC at Work journey. This could include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Mentor others as they implement PLC at Work processes within their settings.
  • Share your school and/or district work by setting up site visits.
  • Create video clips of your PLC work in action for Solution Tree’s Ed-Tech tools.
  • Advance student achievement for defined subpopulations (SpEd, ELs, and economically disadvantaged).
  • Demonstrate unique ways to ensure that all kids are learning at high levels.

Checklist of necessary items:

Eligibility

Schools:

  • Must be currently recognized at the Model PLC at Work level.
  • Must have maintained Model PLC at Work Status and successfully completed at least one data update.

Districts:

  • Must be currently recognized as a Model PLC at Work district.
  • Must have maintained Model PLC at Work status and successfully completed at least one data update.
  • All schools within the district must have at least either Model PLC at Work or Promising Practices status.
    • A majority of schools in the district must have received Model PLC at Work recognition, with the remaining
      schools having, at a minimum, received Promising Practices recognition.
    • Examples:
      • In a district with four schools, at least three must have Model PLC status, and one school has Promising
        Practices status.
      • A district has twelve schools; at least seven schools must have Model PLC status, and the remaining five
        schools must have a minimum of Promising Practices status.

Student Achievement Data

  • Provide your most recent three consecutive years of student achievement data showing exceptional increases in
    student achievement in all content areas.
  • Must include data showing increased achievement made by traditionally underserved student populations (EL,
    Economically Disadvantaged, SPED).

Ambassador Narrative

  • Provide at least one of the following at an exceptional level:
    • Share how you have mentored or impacted others on their PLC at Work journey beyond your own school or
      district.
    • Tell us how your school or district has broken new ground in the way your PLC at Work operates.
    • Show that your student achievement is far beyond average growth, especially including your traditionally
      underserved student populations (EL, Economically Disadvantaged, SPED).
    • Include samples of documented evidence that supports your narrative. Suggestions include but are not
      limited to:
      • Agendas or handouts from site visits.
      • Videos.
      • Articles, additional data, or other validating materials.

Important to Keep in Mind

  • Confirm that no student names or identifying information are contained in any attachments or hyperlinks.
    Approved applications are published on the AllThingsPLC website as exemplars for others on their PLC at Work
    journey.
  • If using hyperlinks, please confirm that they are accessible and the share settings are set to anyone with a
    link and/or saved in a location so people outside of your organization can access it.
  • Hyperlinks that do not open can stop the review process.
  • Confirm that the contact person and contact info are correct & up to date. We encourage adding additional
    contacts for your organization.
  • Please add [email protected] to your safe
    recipients’ list to ensure emails about your application are not blocked.

Maintaining Your DuFour and Eaker Ambassador Model PLC at Work® Status

  • Approved schools and districts must update their data every three years to maintain their Ambassador Model
    PLC at Work® status.
  • They must also submit an updated narrative every three years.

After You Apply

Our panel of expert PLC at Work practitioners will use the above criteria to assess each school or district. Please
consider carefully whether your school or district meets each criterion. To see examples of what you’ll need to

The time frame for applications to be reviewed averages between 4-6 weeks.

After the committee has reviewed your application, you will be notified as follows:

  • If Approved, you will receive:
    • An email notifying you of approval.
    • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Digital Badge.
    • Sample Ambassador Model PLC at Work Press Release.
    • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Flag.
    • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Certificate of Achievement.
    • Ambassador Model PLC at Work Window Cling
    • Signed letter from CFO giving 1 complimentary registration to any Solution Tree institute, summit, or
      workshop.
  • If additional information is requested, you will receive:
    • An email with a detailed Feedback Letter from the Evidence of Effectiveness (EOE) Review Committee.
    • The opportunity to speak with a member of the Evidence of Effectiveness Review Committee to clarify and
      discuss next steps.
  • If your application is not approved, you will receive:
    • An email notifying you of why you were not approved.
      • We encourage you to continue your school improvement efforts and resubmit another application in
        the future.
